Malawi – the Warm Heart of Africa!
Malawi is one of the ten poorest countries in the world – the average life expectancy here is just 38 years and 41% of the population lives on less than 70pence/day. Children are amongst the most vulnerable groups in any society – and in Malawi almost 1 in 5 children dies before reaching their fifth birthday. The high prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Malawi (1 in 7 adults infected) also leaves many children sick or orphaned and in need of support.

The Children’s Fund of Malawi is a registered charity both in Malawi and the UK. It is based in Malawi and run by a Board of Trustees comprising primarily of Malawian people and representing many of the ethnic communities present in Malawi . All donations are used to support projects aimed at improving the health and welfare of Malawian children.
